Florence Sutton Poindexter, 89, of Hampton, died July 4, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Poindexter was born in Newport News. She was a member of the Hampton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hampton.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph N. Poindexter; two daughters, Patricia P. Hundley of Virginia Beach and Florence P. Meszaros of Washington, D.C.; a son, William N. Poindexter of Silver Spring, Md.; a sister, Edna Francis of Newport News; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Parklawn Cemetery in Hampton, by the Rev. Jeanne Heisler. The family will be at the residence, 160 Columbia Ave. in Hampton. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association-Hampton Roads Chapter, 20 Koger Executive Center, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
