William S. McIntosh was recently awarded the Fellowship of The Royal Photographic Society, the world's most prestigious photographic society. His portrait photography will be on traveling loan throughout Great Britain this year.
Dr. Deen Entsminger, assistant professor of music at Belmont University, has received the Chaney Distinguished Professor Award for 1994-95.
Vonnie Whitworth recently received the Best In Show (President's Award) from a field of 241 artists at the 15th Annual Virginia Watercolor Society show in Blacksburg. The Virginia Beach resident is a Resident Artist at the d'ART Center in Norfolk.
G. Robert Aston Jr., president and chief executive officer of Commerce Bank in Hampton Roads, Vincent J. Mastracco Jr., an attorney with Kaufman & Canoles, and the Rev. Wilfred M. Mayton, superintendent of the Eastern Shore District of the United Methodist Church, have been elected to the Board of Trustees at Virginia Wesleyan College.
The Norfolk Suburban Breakfast Lions Club has awarded the Medal of Merit to Margaret Gumble (Margie) Hofheimer on behalf of Lions International. She received the award in recognition of a lifetime of service to the visually handicapped which has included transcribing hundreds of books into Braille and teaching the technique to more than 50 students who went on to become Braillists on their own.
