Ralph Frederick Lewis Matthews, 57, of the 2500 block of Talbert Ave., died July 7, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Matthews was a native of Kittrell, N.C., and was a retired carpenter. He was the widower of Phyllis Ann Matthews and a member of the Catholic Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Holmes of Chesapeake; one son, Ralph Matthews of Chesapeake; one sister; one brother, Paul Matthews of Portsmouth; and three grandsons, Michael Matthews, Tommy Holmes and Bradley Holmes.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Greenlawn Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. Mark Karika. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
