MARCUS J. BUMM

Marcus Joseph ``Max'' Bumm, 75, of the 6400 block of Natrona Ave., a retired master chief petty officer and inspector, died July 6, 1994, in Portsmouth.

Mr. Bumm was born in Fulda, Ind. He retired from the Navy after 26 years and from civil service at the Public Works Center. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the National Fleet Reserve Association and was a Navy veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam era.

Survivors include his wife, Antoinette G. ``Annette'' Bumm; two daughters, Barbara E. Ellis of Newport, R.I., and Marlene C. Bumm of Cambridge, Mass.; a son, Marcus J. ``Mark'' Bumm Jr., of Chicago, Ill.; and a brother, Albert Baum of Cincinnati, Ohio.

A Christian wake service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Father Thomas Keenan. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
