LILLIAN R. STRAYHORN

Lillian Raby Strayhorn, 88, of the 3600 block of Strafford Road, Virginia Beach, went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 1994.

She was born in Princess Anne County, Va., and was a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was the loving, faithful wife of James T. Strayhorn, deceased, and devoted mother of James T. Strayhorn Jr., deceased.

She was a member of Ocean Park Baptist Church for 40 years, where she served faithfully in many capacities. Also, a member of Ocean Park Woman's Club, where she was known for her art work and her plants. She gave of herself graciously and lovingly to all and will be greatly missed.

She was the daughter of Cornelia Virginia Brinn and Emmett Milton Raby, deceased. She is survived by one sister, Mary Raby Denning of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Benjamin F. Lamb and Roger A. Raby of Norfolk; numerous nieces and nephews; and grand-nieces and nephews.

The service will be conducted on Sunday, July 10, 1994, at 2 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Marvin Bagent and the Rev. Charles Wood. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ocean Park Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
