Julia Spivey Evans died July 7, 1994, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Suffolk, she was the widow of Roscoe Verlie Evans. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Adult Choir. She was a former volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Verlie Evans of Newport News and Philip Warren Evans of Midlothian; two granddaughters, Susan Evans Ayers of Frederick, Md., and Mary Elizabeth Evans of Midlothian; two grandsons, David Warren Evans of Kitty Hawk, N.C., and Philip Warren Evans Jr. of Midlothian; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Main Street United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad or to Main Street United Methodist Church.
