Osborne ``Ozzie'' Gray III of Garner was one of 20 fellows chosen for the N.C. Institute of Political Leadership's Fall 1994 Leadership Program.
Gray said Thursday that he was nominated by a friend and interviewed in early June by 10 members of the institute's board of directors.
Gray, a 45-year-old Democrat and former member of the Dare County Board of Commissioners, is the assistant director for adjudication in the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles.
The fellows - 11 men and nine women - will meet on 10 alternate weekends from Aug. 26 to Jan. 7 for 50 seminars on public policy and campaign techniques.
