John Richard Davis Sr., 74, of the 4100 block of Griffin St., a retired foreman, sheet metal worker, died July 8, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Davis was born in Como, N.C. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Dail Davis; two daughters, Claudette Cutrell of Chesapeake and Betty J. Harper of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sons, Glenn E. Davis of Chesapeake, John Richard Davis Jr. of Portsmouth and Chester L. Miles of Lancaster, S.C.; one sister, Mary Childress of Norfolk; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Jim Wismer. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
