Mary N. Karangelen, 96, of the 7700 block of Leafwood Drive, died July 8, 1994, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Karangelen was born in Sparta, Greece, and was the widow of Nicholas L. Karangelen. She was a member of Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Hellenic Women's Club and Philoptochos Ladies Sciety.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Georges of Norfolk; two sons, Evstratios N. Karangelen of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Peter N. Karangelen of Towson, Md.; two sisters, Marika Leopold of Savannah, Ga., and Voula Korinis of Sparta, Greece; one brother, Panos Minakakis of Sparta, Greece; six granchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Father Charles Goumenis, Father Savas Constantinou and Father Constantine Rogakos. The family will receive friends prior to the prayer service on Sunday. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Greek Orthodox Cemetery, Woodlawn, Md. Memorial donations may be made to Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation.
