O.J.'S ATTITUDE

Not to overshadow the disastrous deed of murder, but to help bring light to ``The question: Why?'' (editorial about O.J. Simpson case, June 21): possession, ownership, control, competition, testosterone, etc.

Men more than women feel they have to possess their mates. When Nicole Simpson evidently made a final decision to estrange herself from her mate of 15 years, Mr. Simpson's attitude was, ``If I can't have you, then no one will.''

His frustration at losing someone that he never truly owned but shared his married life with threatens to cause him to lose everything that he diligently worked for all his life.

Very tragic indeed.
