Thank you for running columnist Anna Quindlen's ``Gays: See them as they are'' (op-ed page, June 28). This has tentatively restored my faith in your organization's ability to report news with consideration to all of the elements that comprise our American culture. I had stopped reading the paper, disgusted with what I saw as a reactionary, ``good-old-boy'' manner of disseminating select information.
Perhaps Ms. Quindlen's message of tolerance (if not out-and-out acceptance) of those archaically viewed as ``abnormal'' will reach a few otherwise uniformed readers and, ultimately, help retrain thought patterns away from oblivion and ignorance.
