Joseph Clifton Landin, Sr., 73, of the second block of E. Pollux Circle, a retired sheet metal shop foreman, died July 8, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
He was a native of Wilson County, N.C., and had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 17. He was a member of Port Norfolk Baptist Church in Portsmouth where he served as a deacon and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Landin; three sons and their wives, J.C. and Jenny Landin of Chesapeake, Dick and Cindy Landin of Baltimore, Md., and Chuck and Becky Landin of Suffolk, Va.; a sister, Josephine Price of Nashville, N.C.; three brothers, Bill Landin of Elm City, N.C., Sidney Landin of Nashville, N.C., and Albert Landin of Mt. Olive, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Port Norfolk Baptist Church by Dr. Ector Hamrick. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
