ALENA H. MCCLAM

Rev. Alena Hickson McClam, 78, of the 1200 block of Reservoir Ave., a retired pastor, died July 5, 1994, in a local hospital.

The Rev. McClam was born in Florence County, S.C. She was a member and pastor of St. Stephenson Christ Holiness Church for more than 27 years before her illness. She was retired for two years.

Survivors include her husband, A.Q. McClam; daughters Inez Napper of Suffolk and Ophelia McClam of Norfolk; a son, Willie McClam of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Hattie Gibbs of Norfolk, Verna McFadden of Pengrove, N.J., and Vera Eddy of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Sam Hickson of Patterson, N.J., and Golden Hickson of Scranton, S.C.; grandchildren Angelina Ervin and Levorile Williams; and great-granddaughter Angel Ervin.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Smyrna Church of Christ Holiness Disciples, Norfolk, by presiding clergy Elder Kent Gordon. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will assemble at 1043 Trade Winds Road, Virginia Beach, at noon Wednesday. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
