Local police are asking public assistance in solving these cases:
NORFOLK
On Friday, June 10, just after 11 p.m., a 28-year-old Norfolk woman was walking in the 100 block of E. 17th St. when a man approached her with a knife.
The man forced her through a window of a vacant home, where he sexually assaulted her. He then fled.
The woman was treated and released from a local hospital.
The assailant is described as black, in his early 30s, 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 170 pounds. He had unkempt hair, big eyes and high cheekbones.
The man was last seen wearing beige pants, a gray sleeveless sweatshirt with yellow letters on it and black steel-toed boots.
On Saturday, June 4, at 3:45 a.m., police were called to 1278 Mapole Ave. where a man was found shot to death.
How the body got there is unknown. Just a few hours earlier, police were called to the Roberts Park School basketball court for a report of shots being fired, but they found nothing. It's unclear if the two incidents are related.
The victim was identified as Reginald L. Jones, 36, of the 1200 block of Lead St.
According to family members, Jones didn't frequent the area where his body was found.
PORTSMOUTH
On May 11, about 10:30 p.m., police were called to the 1400 block of Effingham St. for a reported shooting.
Officers found Kenneth Freeman, 24, lying on the ground with several gunshot wounds. At least one shot was to the head.
The victim was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he remains in a coma.
Police are seeking any information about Freeman's activities just before the shooting as well as anyone who may have witnessed the attack or who has information about suspects.
Detective David Adelman needs help in solving a homicide of a 20-year-old Portsmouth man.
On June 3, police were called to 64 Lexington Drive. They found Andre Lamont Holley, 20, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head.
Holley was taken to Portsmouth General Hospital, where he later died.
Investigators are seeking the identity of the three individuals who may have information about this homicide. They go by the names ``Poochie,'' `Mush-Mush'' and ``J.J.''
On Jan. 23, police were called to the 2900 block of Turnpike Road where they found the body of Debra Denise Skeeter, 32, lying face down by the fence at the back of I.C. Norcom High School.
Skeeter, who was pronounced dead at the scene, appeared to have been beaten and sexually assaulted.
Investigators believe that the victim was near the Fox Motel, in the 2500 block of Turnpike Road, around 3:30 p.m. Her body was found by the fence shortly after 6 p.m.
Investigators are seeking any information about Skeeter's whereabouts between 3 and 6 p.m. on that Super Bowl Sunday.
VIRGINIA BEACH
On Thursday, May 19, about 4 a.m., two men walked into the Cavalier Hotel at 41st Street and Atlantic Avenue.
One of the men showed the clerk a pistol and demanded money. After getting the money, the robbers tied up the night clerk, forced him into a rear office and struck him in the head with a gun. Another employee was forced into the men's restroom and tied up.
Police are looking for two men described as Hispanic and in their 20s.
The suspect in the drawing was about 5 feet 10 inches tall with short black hair and was wearing a blue, double-breasted suit.
The other suspect is described as black, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and was wearing a blue T-shirt and a baseball cap.
On Tuesday, April 26, about 4 p.m., a 42-year-old woman, who had just parked her car in front of her home in the 4300 block of Alfriends Tail, was approached by a man with a knife.
The woman blew the car horn and tried to get away, but her assailant stabbed her twice in the neck. The man then ran into the woods.
The woman is recovering, and police are seeking a suspect. He is described as white, in his late teens or early 20s, about 6 feet tall, with a thin build and brown hair combed back.
On Monday, May 2, about 2:45 p.m., the First Union Bank branch on Virginia Beach Boulevard near Lynnhaven Road was robbed.
The gunman is described as white or Hispanic, in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 135 pounds, with short black hair and a slight mustache.
He was wearing a straw hat, sunglasses and had an earring in his left ear.
On Saturday, June 4, about 7:15 p.m., two young women, ages 20 and 21, were crossing Pacific Avenue at 11th Street when a speeding car heading south struck them.
The vehicle slowed briefly and then proceeded over the Rudee Inlet bridge.
Both women survived and are recovering from multiple injuries.
Detectives are looking for a brown, four-door, 1980s model Buick or similar vehicle with a light-color, vinyl top.
It may have damage to the front and Virginia tags with 8034 as the last four numbers. At the time of the accident the car was occupied by three white males in their late teens or early 20s.
SUFFOLK
On the weekend of June 26, someone pried open a metal door and entered Ferguson Manufacturing Co. Inc.
The thieves took assorted tools, including air wrenches in several sizes, air rivet guns, a skill saw, electric drills, several electric grinders, air hoses, electric fans, a 20-inch lawn mower, a weed eater and a large assortment of hand tools.
Because of the quantity of items stolen, police believe some may be offered for sale on the streets. Citizens should be cautious about purchasing items in this manner.
HAMPTON
Police are asking help in locating two suspects in the slaying of Brian Artis.
The slaying occurred March 26 in the 1000 block of Blazer Court.
The first suspect, James Curtis Belle, 26, is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 155 pounds. Belle has a goatee and dreadlocks.
The second is Clyde W. Boyce, 21, who is also known as ``C.'' He is described as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 142 pounds.
Both Belle and Boyce are wanted on charges of murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Both should be considered armed and dangerous.
James Carrol Evans, 37, is wanted on six counts of forgery and uttering, credit card theft and credit card forgery.
He is described as white, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds.
Suzanne Lozandi, 26, is wanted on charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny.
