Bernice Seal Hancock, 77, of the 900 block of Sacony St., died July 9, 1994, in Suffolk.
Mrs. Hancock was a native of Norfolk. She was the widow of John William Hancock Sr. She had retired from Naval Hospital Credit Union as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Taylor Road Baptist Church, Chesapeake, NARFE, AARP, Western Branch Senior Citizens and Beasley Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Schiller of Salisbury, Md.; two sons, John W. Hancock Jr. and Jerry L. Hancock, both of Chesapeake; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Taylor Road Baptist Church by Dr. Mel Kunkle. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Mission, 130 Brooke Ave., Norfolk.
