LONNIE D. BROADWAY

Lonnie Delmer Broadway, 75, of the 3400 block of Landstown Court, a retired civil service fire chief, died July 11, 1994, in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Broadway was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., and was retired from NOB after 37 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a past member of the International Fire Chief's Association, Virginia State Firefighter's Association, Federal Firefighter's Union, AFL, American Association of Retired Persons, Loyal Order of Moose and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane O'Brien Broadway; three stepdaughters, Coleen Mary Plaugher and Susan Gail McNicholl, both of Virginia Beach, and Patricia Jane Brown of Philadelphia; one son, James Wilson Broadway of Mount Jackson, Va.; one stepson, John David Roberts of Chesapeake; his mother, Annie Bell Marsh of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Louise Emma Honeycutt of Winston-Salem; and nine grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at the residence at other times.
