Meredith H. Williams, 79, of the 500 block of Princess Anne Road, a retired assemblyman, died July 11, 1994, in Norfolk.
Mr. Williams was born in Munden, Va., and was the widower of Frances Nosay Williams. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company after 27 years. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, Princess Anne Masonic Lodge (NU)25 and Norfolk Scottish Rite.
Survivors include one daughter, Frances Mae Etheridge and son-in-law, Marvin C. Etheridge of Virginia Beach; one son, Johnnie H. Williams and daughter-in-law, Rae Williams, of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Hilda Brown of Virginia Beach and Jane Blair of Staunton, Va.; one brother, Dallas Williams of Seaford, Va.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Oak Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Joseph Brewer. Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and at the residence at other times. Masonic rites will be accorded at the grave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Creeds Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, or Oak Grove Baptist Church.
