Police arrested Clinton A. Williams, 37, of the 1700 block of Vernon Ave., on Monday and charged him with the robbery of a 73-year-old woman in her home last weekend.
The woman, whose name was withheld by police, returned to her home in the 1700 block of Melon St. about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. She was accosted in her kitchen, knocked to the floor, tied up with duct tape and gagged with a stocking, police spokesman Larry Hill said.
The robber left in the victim's car with three televisions, a stereo, jewelry and frozen food. He later returned to untie the woman. She was treated for contusions and lacerations.
