CHARLOTTE RENEE Revell reached for the piano keys when she was old enough to sit on a piano stool without falling over.
Ten months ago, the 16-year-old pianist started taking lessons, ``so I can learn to read music.''
Charlotte's natural talent has been nurtured over the years by almost daily practice sessions - not because she had to, but because she wanted to.
The self-taught teenager learned piano - learned everything - at home.
Charlotte and her three siblings are home-taught by their parents, David and Glenda Revell of Jericho Road.
``I practice a few hours a day, everyday,'' said the soft-spoken musician. ``I did that even when I was a little kid.''
Things have become more complex, but Charlotte handles them with the same confidence. She is in the midst of a four-Sunday concert presentation at the Isle of Wight County Museum.
Charlotte's first performance was July 10. She will play from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 24 and July 31.
During her performance, Charlotte plays a patriotic medley that includes ``Anchors Aweigh,'' ``The Marines' Hymn'' and ``The Caisson Song.''
Other offerings include:
July 17 - ``My Savior's Love,'' George M. Cohan's ``You're a Grand Ole Flag'' and ``Tears in Heaven.''
July 24 - Bach's ``Minuet,'' ``Sarabande'' variations, ``Canon in D'' and a medley of Victorian hymns.
July 31 - The theme from ``Somewhere in Time'' and a World War I song called ``Johnny's Gone For a Soldier.''
There will, of course, be other offerings during each concert, many of them emphasizing Charlotte's faith.
``She's a blessing to people in our church,'' her mother said, referring to the Antioch Christian Church in Windsor, where her daughter plays.
``Charlotte is not a prodigy,'' Glenda Revell said. ``But she is certainly gifted.''
Members of the audience will realize that as the pianist offers religious music, the classics, Broadway tunes, 1940s numbers and contemporary songs on the grand Victorian piano in the museum's main gallery.
Eventually, Charlotte, a 10th grader, hopes to study music in college. MEMO: The Isle of Wight County Museum presents concerts by Charlotte Renee
