Katie Patricia Mae Whitley departed this life on Sunday, July 10, 1994, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
She was the mother of the late Bobbie Ray and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Laura P. Whitley. She was born July 10, 1943, in Norfolk. At an early age, she attended Mount Pleasant First Baptist Church and later St. Paul AME Church. She attended the Norfolk Public Schools.
Those who are left to cherish her memories are one sister, Anita N. Edmonds of Norfolk; seven aunts, Georgia N. Parham of Norfolk, Cremo Ferrell of Wendell, N.C., Ozell W. Ross of Washington, D.C., Mary Thompson, Daisy Peguse, Rosalee Perry and Louise Whitley, all of Raleigh, N.C.; four uncles, the Rev. Calvin Whitley of Philadelphia, Otis Whitley of Washington, D.C., Luther Perry of Raleigh and Joseph R. Perry of Los Angeles; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Graves Funeral Home by the Rev. Anthony Moses. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will assemble at Graves Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
