Lucille Rogers Walker, age 79, went gently into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, July 13, 1994.
She was born in Rocky Mount, N.C. She is reunited with her husband of nearly 60 years, William ``Dick'' Walker. She is survived by her daughter, Gaye Walker Koeppen of Mason City, Ill.; her sons, David N. Walker and William R. ``Bill'' Walker of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by three sisters, Anita Freeman and Elmarie Gupton, both of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Esther Felton of Macclesfield, N.C. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and by five great-grandchildren and loved ones, Buck and Lillian Hoffman of Jacksonville, Fla.
She was a member of St. John's Baptist Church in Virginia Beach and the Prime Timers Senior Citizens Club of the church.
A celebration of her homegoing will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. John's Baptist Church, 2356 Holland Road, with the Rev. W. Hank Brooks officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, Friday evening from 8 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. John's Baptist Church, 2356 Holland Road, Virginia Beach.
