Erma Ashley Raiford, 63, of the 200 block of Shea St., a retired supply systems analyst, died July 13, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Raiford was a native of South Norfolk, Va., daughter of the late William Robert Ashley Sr. and Lonie Robertson Ashley. She was the widow of John J. Raiford and a charter member of Believers Baptist Church, Chesapeake. She had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Judy R. and Thomas Pantelides of Virginia Beach; a son and his wife, William K. and Patricia Raiford of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mabel Ashley of Suffolk and Eleanor Smith of Ahoskie; a brother, William R. Ashley Jr. of Tyner, N.C.; and two grandsons, Taylor and Brandon Raiford.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Believers Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Ranck. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Believers Baptist Church.
