Sallie Ann Hunter, 97, of the 2600 block of Kings Court, a homemaker, died July 13, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Hunter was born in Camden, N.C., and was the widow of Charlie James Hunter. She was a member of Bethel Apostolic Church and was Mother of the church.
Survivors include six daughters, Virgal Smallwood, Sarah Fuller, Queenesther Campbell, all of Norfolk, Eunice Lipton of Chesapeake, Elsie Sims of Cleveland, Ohio, and Barbara Lawrence of Jacksonville, N.C.; three sons, John Hunter of Chesapeake and Barnabas Hunter and Paul Hunter, both of Norfolk; one sister, Flora Mae Brunson and one brother, Walter Hunt, both of Camden, N.C.; 37 grandchildren; over 50 great-grandchildren; 40 great-great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three sons, Simons, Chalie and Abraham Hunter, a daughter, Chloe Williams and a grandson, Timothy Stith.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Bethal Apostolic Church, 3004 Campostella Road, Chesapeake, by Honorable District Elder Savage. Burial will be in the Hunt Family Cemetery, Camden. Family and friends will assemble at 2651 King Court, Chesapeake, at 12:30 p.m. Sunday for the funeral processional to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
