Ethel A. Thomas of the 1500 block of Plantation Lake Circle, a housewife, died July 15, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Norfolk. She was a member of St. Mark R.Z.U.A. Church, Norfolk, and the widow of William H. Thomas.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Bonita Murden of Norfolk; seven sons, Robert and William Thomas of Norfolk, Mathew Thomas, Rev. Alvin Ben Thomas and Samuel N. Thomas of Chesapeake, Johnnie E. Thomas of Virginia Beach and Randolph W. Thomas of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Charlie A. Thomas and San Juan Thomas.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark R.Z.U.A. Church by Bishop George H. Studivant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The remains will be ready for viewing at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The remains will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The family will assemble at the residence at noon for the processional. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
