Glen Edgar Rife, 66, of the 5800 block of Avalon Woods Drive, a retired CPO, died July 15, 1994, in Norfolk.
Mr. Rife was born in Pennsylvania. He retired from the Navy after 33 years, a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 4809 and was the widower of Celia Ruth Rife.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Ann Rife of Virginia Beach; two sons, Frank Rife of Chesapeake and Mike Rife of Currituck, N.C.; two sisters, Margaret Kendall of Milledgeville, Ill., and Mary Nelson of Rockford, Ill.; three brothers, Bill Rife of Wisconsin, Kenneth Rife of Elgin, Ill., and Melvin Rife of Madison, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Bradley, Danny, Eric, Rachel and Celia Rife.
A funeral service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is handling arrangements.
