Brian E. Drake, 32, of the 6300 block of Sangamon Ave., a self-employed carpenter, died July 15, 1994, from a biking accident.
Mr. Drake was a native of Norfolk, Virginia, and a graduate of Norview High School. He was the husband of Heather Hawthorne Childress Drake, and was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley S. Drake, and his brother, Brady T. Drake III. He was a member of The Jim-Bob's Horseshoe Classic and The Ocean View Social and Democratic Club.
Survivors include his wife, his daughter, Shirley Leigh Drake of Norfolk; a son, Charles Robert Erwin III; his father, Brady T. Drake Jr.; 2 sisters, Anne Drake Roe of Raleigh, N.C., Carol Drake Richardson of Norfolk; 3 brothers, Thomas Edward Drake of Norfolk, Donald Allen Drake of Alexandria, Va., Robert Oliver Drake of Pennsylvania; his grandmother, Mollie E. Sawyer of Norfolk; his mother-in-law, Jo Anne Childress of Norfolk; and 10 nieces and nephews.
A church service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Monday July 18, 1994, at Bayview United Church of Christ, 1051 Bayview Blvd., Norfolk, by Reverend Richard E. Prince. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Drake Children's Fund C/O First Virginia Bank, Fishermans Road, Norfolk, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today evening from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and at the residence following the service Monday. H.D.
