MARION C. BOWLER

Marion Clyde Bowler, 66, of the 8000 block of Clubhouse Drive, died July 17, 1994, in a Newport News hospital.

Mr. Bowler, a native of Raleigh, N.C., was retired as an executive assistant for the Daily Press newspaper after 43 years. He attended Churchland Baptist Church; was a member of Cedar Point Club, Suffolk; former member of Newport News Kiwanis Club; a past president of Peninsula Sales and Marketing Executives; Virginia Press Association; and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Drewery Bowler; one daughter, Susan Bowler Davidson of Portsmouth; two sons, Dr. Michael W. Bowler of Yorktown, Va., and Steven W. Bowler of Smithfield, Va.; three sisters, Cleo Massie of Bedford, Va., Mildred Ballew of Grafton, Va., and Hazel Broyles of Hampton; three brothers, Lawrence Bowler of Grafton, Richard Bowler of Montgomery, Ala., and Kenneth Bowler of Hampton; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, by Dr. R. Clint Hopkins. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Bennetts Creek Rescue Squad, 3885 Bridge Road, Suffolk, Va. 23435.
