MARJORIE S. STOKES

Marjorie Shoemaker Stokes, 67, of the 1600 block of Janke Road, died July 17, 1994, in Virginia Beach.

Mrs. Stokes was born in Tampa, Fla., and was the widow of William Noe Stokes. She was employed with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, and was a member of Bayside Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Stokes Spivey of Richmond and Barbara Stokes of Virginia Beach; two sons, William Noe Stokes Jr. of Grundy, Va., and George Shoemaker Stokes of Virginia Beach; one sister, Jeanette Shoemaker McDearmon of Richmond; one brother, George William Shoemaker of Norfolk; and four grandchildren, David William Spivey and Nathan Nolen Spivey, both of Richmond, Alison Rene Stokes and Jessica Jill Stokes, both of Grundy, Va.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to Bayside Presbyterian Church, 1400 Ewell Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23455.
