Linwood ``Sonny'' James, 58, of the 2900 block of Argonne Ave., a retired longshoreman, died July 17, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mr. James was born in Windsor, N.C., and was a member of Full Gospel Church of Deliverance. He was retired from International Longshoreman's Association, Local 1970, after 33 years.
Survivors include his wife, Hattie M. James; four stepdaughters, Dorothy Rae Duck and Leontine Duck, both of Raleigh, N.C., Magaline Duck and Thomasene Gary, both of Norfolk; three sisters, Ida Foster of Chesapeake, Mary Outlaw of Norfolk and Annie Blanch Askew of North Carolina; four grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Maggie Yarborough of Zebulon, N.C.; and one son-in-law, Frederick Gary of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Full Gospel Church of Deliverance by the Rev. Ernest S. Martin. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
