Janice K. Burket, 33, of Virginia Beach, died July 19, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Burket was born in Washington, D.C., and was employed with Frank W. Cox High School in food service for two years. She was a member of the Church of Acts.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph C. Burket; a daughter, Shannon A. Burket and a son, Joseph E. Burket, both of Virginia Beach; her mother and father, Donna W. Kernan and Joseph T. Kernan of Suffolk; two sisters, Mary K. Boyd of Virginia Beach and Teresa Churchill of Suffolk; and two brothers, Francis E. Kernan of Roanoke and Matthew J. Kernan of Lebanon, Pa. She was the devoted daughter-in-law of Joyce Burket of Virginia Beach.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday in Catholic Church of the Holy Family by Father Richard Mooney. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
