George Franklin Morgan, 70, of the 1200 block of Nansemond Parkway, died July 20, 1994, in Hillhaven-Nansemond Nursing Center, Suffolk.
He was a native of Nansemond County and was a son of the late Marion Dunn Morgan and William C. Morgan Sr. He was a retired self-employed logging contractor and was associated with Ramsey Lumber Co. He had retired after 50 years. He was a member of Oakland Christian Church, Suffolk Masonic Lodge (NU)30, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three sisters, Eva Dunn Baker of Suffolk, Marion M. Kirkpatrick of Greenville, N.C., and Eloise M. Raine of Pocomoke City, Md.; and three brothers, Archie T. Morgan of Southern Pines, N.C., James L. Morgan of Suffolk and O. Parks Morgan of Chesapeake. He was predeceased by a brother, William C. Morgan Jr.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Elisha E. Jones. The family will receive friends at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the residence.
