Darryl Lee Grimes, 27, of the 500 block of Tidewater Drive, a beautician, died Saturday, July 16, 1994, in DePaul Medical Center.
Mr. Grimes was born in Norfolk and was the son of Gloria Jean Moore and Fred L. Edmonds. He was employed with Seymor's Barber & Beauty Shop.
Survivors include a sister, Davitria C. James of Portsmouth; two brothers, LaShawn A. Grimes and Kelly O. Grimes, both of Norfolk; maternal grandmother, Lucille R. Bright of Norfolk; paternal grandmother, Ethel Darden; three uncles, Leroy Lee Edmonds and Dock Powell, both of Norfolk, and Curley Lee Edmonds of Virginia Beach; eight aunts, Evelyn Powell-Porter, Bessie Lee Hollowell, Ethel Swanagan, Ruth Clark, Mary Lowery, all of Norfolk, Barbara Dickerson of Virginia Beach, Josephine Person of Emporia, and Beatrice Lee of New York; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Riddick Funeral Service by the Rev. I. Thunderword. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be at 818 Mariner St., the home of Evelyn Powell-Porter.
