ISRAEL WINSTEAD

Israel ``Sonny'' Winstead of the 1900 block of of Greenleaf Drive, a self-employed upholsterer and tailor, died July 15, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Winstead was born in Edenton, N.C., and was a Baptist. He was the son of the late Lucy and Ernest Winstead.

Survivors include two sons, Alphonso Harvey and Calvin Harvey, both of Chesapeake; seven sisters, Virginia Winstead, Mary Winstead, Catherine Heyward, Eunice Pitt, Dora Lee Sykes, all of Norfolk, Ernestine Walton of Indianapolis, Ind., and Patricia Winstead of New York City; three brothers, Harry Winstead of Norfolk, Jesse Winstead of New York City and Shedrach Winstead of Weldon, N.C.; a grandson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Hale Funeral Home, 2100 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, by the Rev. M.L. Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. His remains rest at the funeral home. Friends may join the family at 3375 Kimball Terrace at noon Friday for the processional to the funeral chapel.
