Carol Jean Hewitt McFatter, 45, of 805 Fontaine St., died Wednesday, July 20, 1994, in Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk.
Mrs. McFatter was a native of Chowan County, N.C. She was a school bus driver for the Franklin city schools. She was a member of the Franklin City Schools Bus Drivers Association, Woodmen of the World Lodge (NU)18 and past president and former secretary of the Franklin Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Wayne McFatter; a daughter, Sherri Lynn M. Draughn of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a son, Lance Cpl. Earl Wayne McFatter, USMC, stationed at Rota, Spain; her parents, George and Nadine Hewitt of Colerain, N.C.; two sisters, Brenda H. Brinkley of Ahoskie and Christie H. Jernigan of Colerain; a brother, Ralph Hewitt of Colerain.
A funeral will be conducted at 2p.m. Saturday in Sycamore Baptist Church with the Rev. Reginald Warren officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and suggest that memorial donations be made to Sycamore Baptist Church Building Fund.
