Constance Ballance Lingo, 69, of the 800 block of Bainbridge Blvd., died in Lake Taylor Hospital on Wednesday, July 20, 1994.
She was the daughter of the late Cecil G. Ballance and Mary A. Ballance of Hatteras, N.C. She was the widow of the late William V. Lingo and was preceded in death by her son, William V. Lingo Jr.
She was a retired receptionist for Dr. Simpson and a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church. Memberships also include being past president of the South Norfolk Woman's Club and past matron of Friendship Chapter (NU)57, Order of the Eastern Star (South Norfolk Chapter).
Besides her mother, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Regina Lingo of Chesapeake; three granddaughters, Suzanne Lingo and Michelle Lingo of Chesapeake, and Connie Edwards and her husband, Ryan, of Manns Harbor, N.C.; a grandson, Robert Lingo of Chesapeake and a great-grandson, David Edwards of Manns Harbor.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 24, 1994 at 3 p.m in Hatteras United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Huskins officiating. Burial will be in the Ballance Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the South Norfolk Congregational Church or to the Hatteras United Methodist Church. Twiford Funeral Home, Ghent Chapel, Norfolk, is in charge of arrangements.
