Etta Catherine Whitehurst, 82, of Russell House, died July 21, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Whitehurst was born in Norfolk County and was retired from People's Drug Store after 40 years. She was the widow of Vernon D. Whitehurst. She was a member of Knights of Pythias Temple (NU)3 and the Senior Citizens Group at Great Neck Recreation Center.
Survivors include a niece, M. Joanne Richardson of Virginia Beach; a great-nephew, Dennis Richardson of Goose Creek, S.C.; two great-nieces, Beverly Ortiz and Denise Murphy, both of Virginia Beach; and two great-great-nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, by the Rev. Ernest Trueblood. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Russell House Van Fund, 900 First Colonial Road, Virginia Beach.
