Edith Baker Blanchard, 86, died Friday morning, July 22, 1994, in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.
Mrs. Blanchard was born in Chowan County. She was a homemaker and had retired from Supak Mfg. Co. in Elizabeth City. She was a member of Hobbsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Titus Blanchard; two sons, J. Gilbert Blanchard of Hobbsville and Elliott J. ``Jack'' Blanchard of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Hazel B. Hoffler of Sunbury, Wilma B. Williams and Minnie Baker, both of Norfolk; two brothers, James E. Baker and Locke C. Baker, both of Tyner; six grandchildren, Marinda B. Eure of Gatesville, David R. Blanchard of Raleigh, Johnny A. Blanchard of Hobbsville, Paul R. Blanchard of High Point, N.C, Mark R. Blanchard of Durham and Brian A. Blanchard of Hobbsville; three great-grandchildren, Kevin Baker Eure of Gatesville, Alexander Pierce Blanchard of High Point and Sarah Annette Blanchard of Hobbsville.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Hobbsville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, in charge. Friends may join the family tonight from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Gilbert Blanchard, Hobbsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
