MARY B. WASHINGTON

Evangelist Mary B. Washington, 65, of the 800 block of Geneva Ave., a retired nurse, died July 21, 1994, in her residence.

She was born in Norfolk County and was a member of Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ, Chesapeake. She retired two years ago from New Rochelle Hospital in New York after 35 years of service.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Mitchell and Marie Banks; and a son, Larry Brooks, all of Chesapeake; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mavis Brooks of Chesapeake; a special cousin, Christine Caldwell of Chesapeake; a stepsister, Glenna Hinton of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Cathedral of Faith COGIC, Chesapeake, by Elder G. Wesley Hardy. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth, and Monday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 826 Geneva Ave., Chesapeake, at 1:45 p.m. for the processional to the church.
