The body of a Newport News man was found in the city landfill Friday, police said.
The body was identified as that of Jimmy Lee Williams, 43, of the 700 block of 35th St.
Workers discovered the body after a truck emptied its cargo at the landfill off Warwick Boulevard.
Police said Williams could have been picked up from a Dumpster, where he possibly had sought food or shelter, at any one of 64 sites in Newport News.
It was unclear how he died. His body has been sent to the state medical examiner in Norfolk. by CNB
