Whatever comes his way, whether it's work or play, Jimmy Bebout delves into it with gusto.
He enjoys shopping for antiques in Norfolk, Williamsburg and Fredericksburg. But he also calls work ``one of my hobbies.''
``I've always been a hard worker and paid my own way,'' Bebout said. ``I don't like handouts.''
For 13 years, he worked at the Naval Aviation Depot as a machinist. Then came the announcement that the facility would close. Bebout took advantage of the opportunity to leave early.
But he couldn't stay away from his hobby: working.
Bebout used his incentive pay, money from his retirement fund and took out a small loan. Then, in August, he opened a retail shop named H20 to Go.
``Our main business is purified bottled water,'' he said. ``We sell the bottles and coolers. We have really nice sports bottles, pumps to extract the water from the bottles and a ceramic dispenser for the bottles.''
