Fannie Burkett Jernigan, 86, of the 300 block of Church St., a homemaker, died July 24, 1994, in the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Jernigan was born in Bertie County, N.C. She was the widow of Joseph Hubert Jernigan and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lewiston Woodville. She was a member of W.M.U. First Baptist Church and was a former member of Lewiston Woodville Chapter of Eastern Star.
Survivors include four daughters, Ramona J. Bazemore and Evelyn J. Parker, both of Lewiston Woodville, Lacelle J. Parker of Windsor, N.C., and Doyle J. Long of Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Joseph Hubert Jernigan Jr. of Graceville, Fla.; two sisters, Betty Jernigan of Windsor, N.C., and Myrtle Baker of Roxobel, N.C.; a brother, W. Daniel Burkett of Ahoskie, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Lewiston Woodville by the Rev. Grover Everett. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is handling arrangements.
