New public participation guidelines which govern how the public may participate in the regulation-making process were adopted by the Virginia Pesticide Control Board in March, and they took effect June 22.
The guidelines provide increased opportunities for the public to petition the Pesticide Control Board regarding regulatory matters, and they contain requirements for the use of advisers in the formation and development of regulations concerning pesticide use in Virginia.
