Walter Miller Taylor, 34, of the 3600 block of Gateway Drive, a warehouseman, died July 24, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Taylor was born in Portsmouth and was a 1977 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He was employed with Select Temp. He was a member of Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and Sharrrp, a singing group of Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Halison-Taylor; three daughters, Shonda DeMille Taylor of Portsmouth, Dana Chevelle McCrae and Andrena Barnes of Norfolk; a son, Rashaun Antonio Taylor of Portsmouth; two stepsons, Ramon D. Halison and Damon D. Halison of Portsmouth; his mother, Shirley M. Taylor; his father, Walter M. Roscoe; two sisters, Diane Taylor-Jones of Virginia Beach and Debra Tyler of Norfolk; five brothers, Melvin Taylor Jr., Herman S. Taylor of Virginia Beach, Robert L. Taylor of New York, James E. Taylor and Ricky L. Taylor of Virginia Beach; and his grandmother, Gladys M. Williams.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Joe B. Flemming. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will begin today in Twilight Funeral Home, Norfolk. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.
