Ida M. Mandell, 87, of the 5600 block of Wesleyan Drive, died July 27, 1994, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mrs. Mandell, a native of Norfolk, was the widow of Charles Mandell. She retired in 1969 from the public works department of the Norfolk Naval Base. She was a member of Temple Israel and its Sisterhood in Norfolk, the Jewish Community Center of Tidewater, Golden Age Club and Hadassah.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Joan Walker of Ione, Calif.; a son, Barry Mandell of Norfolk; six grandchildren, David Weinraub, Lee Anne Duberstein, Dana Barnhill, Adam Weinraub, Russell Goeckner and Shawn Goeckner; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. by Rabbi Michael E. Panitz and Cantor Isaac Danker. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at 1352 W. Ocean View Ave., Apt. 2, Norfolk. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
