Vera Duke Garner, 95, formerly of the 5500 block of Monroe Place, died July 26, 1994, in Charlottesville.
She was born in Danville, Va., and lived in Norfolk for most of her life. She was the widow of George Haden Garner and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Garner Winston of Nellysford, Va.; a sister, Mary Duke Brown of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Stephen Lee Winston of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mary Winston Blount of Wytheville, Va., Rebecca Winston Brewbaker of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Christopher Winston.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. John L. Hoke. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
