MARY S. WALLACE

Mary Speller Wallace of the 1400 block of Seaboard Ave., a nurse, died July 26, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Wallace was born in Norfolk and was employed with Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for 24 years. She was a member of St. Paul CME Church, Norfolk, where she was also a Trustee, Missionary, Stewardess, Usher, Choir member, Sexton and volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Martha Grand Chapter, a Legal Aid volunteer and treasurer of the PTA of Rena B. Wright Primary School. She was the recipient of numerous awards and accolades.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin Wallace; four daughters, Mary Speller Drayton, Lenora Diane Crawford, Cherrie A. Brown and Angel Denise Bruce, all of Chesapeake; two sons, Jimmy B. Speller of Chesapeake and John F. Speller of Norfolk; two sisters, Sallie M. Tavers and Lucille Epps, both of Norfolk; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul CME Church by the Rev. T.R. McKenny and the Rev. James Anderson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. An Eastern Star service will be at Metropolitan Funeral Service from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday. Family and friends will assemble at 1412 Seaboard Ave., Chesapeake, at noon Saturday for the funeral processional to the church.
