REMEMBER THOSE talented girls of summer from Virginia Beach and Chesapeake that auditioned to be on Music Television's Lip Service show last June - and made it?
The women - Ranee Rubio, 20, Lori Schroeder, 19, and Cheryl Marcelo, 18 - succeeded in winning a trip to New York City to be on MTV's Lip Service show.
Lip Service is kareoke, MTV style. The women danced and lip synced to ``100% Pure Love'' by Crystal Waters. Last weekend they hit gold with a 93 percent score and won all three rounds.
``It was definitely an experience,'' Marcelo said. ``Everyone at MTV was really supportive.''
The women, who named their dance group Roadtrip, won a vacation in Buena Vista, Fla. They also won a refrigerator and $150 worth of party games.
Roadtrip is awaiting the word from MTV to see if the group made the semifinals. MTV will produce a music video for the final winners.
