In response to ``Blowing smoke'' (editorial, July 21), I can tell you what Chuck Robb has been doing ``all spring long.'' He has been fighting for Virginia by bringing an aircraft-carrier contract to this area. He also has been fighting tooth and nail for the Lake Gaston pipeline for Virginia Beach, as well as other things too numerous to mention.
I can also tell you what Doug Wilder's been doing. He raised my college tuition during his administration. For years he has also embarrassed himself by acting like an annoying little dog yapping at Robb's heels.
Ollie North has been squirming a step ahead of not only the law but also his ``fellow'' Republicans.
Marshall Coleman has already been told - at least twice - by the citizens of Virginia that he should not hold public office.
Senator Robb is a member of the Armed Services Committee. It is the most important committee for Hampton Roads and one to which none of the other candidates would likely be appointed. Chuck Robb is the best choice for Virginia.
