Leroy L. ``It'' Southall-Rodgers Sr., 67, of the 900 block of Potomac Ave., a retired electrician, died July 26, 1994, in his home.
Mr. Southall-Rodgers was born in Norfolk County and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 10 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church Pughsville, Chesapeake, where he was an Usher and president of the Usher Board. He was a member of Mount Gilead Lodge (NU)102, Order of Masons and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie Louise Rodgers; two daughters, Debora Smith and Elvine Brown-Rodgers; and a son, Leroy L. Rodgers Jr., all of Portsmouth; three brothers, Joseph Rodgers and Robert Davis, both of Portsmouth, and Norman Rodgers of Bronx, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Hope Baptist Church Pughsville, Chesapeake, by the Rev. William Russell and the Rev. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, with military honors. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. today in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
