Ruth Agnes Odeneal Shearon, 83, of Blacksburg, widow of Nicholas A. Shearon, died Friday, July 29, 1994 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center.
Mrs. Shearon was born in New York City on Oct. 23, 1910, a daughter of the late Arthur Johnson Odeneal and Alice Roberta Hall Odeneal. Reared in Norfolk, she was a graduate of the College of William and Mary and was a public school teacher. She was a former Regent of the Clinch Bend Chapter of the D.A.R. in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and was a member and served on the altar guild of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Oak Ridge. She and her husband were also members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Myrtle Beach, S.C. They were longtime residents of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the Washington, D.C., area.
Survivors include a daughter, Constance S. Wright of Blacksburg; a son, Arthur Nicholas Shearon of Alexandria; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Trinity Episcopal Church, Myrtle Beach, S.C., with Rector Ladson F. Mills officiating. Interment will be in Southeastern Memorial Gardens, Myrtle Beach. Arrangements are by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
